El deportista de 23 a\u00f1os no lleg\u00f3 a completar el giro y se rompi\u00f3 la nuca al chocar contra el suelo. Los equipos de emergencia no pudieron hacer nada por salvar su vida. Thabete hab\u00eda sido campe\u00f3n del mundo en la modalidad de 75 kilogramos y ten\u00eda una larga carrera por delante, seg\u00fan sus compa\u00f1eros.
